Our knowledgeable and helpful support staff makes all the difference.
Glenda joined the firm in August 2005. Glenda started out in the real estate department, and then moved to the bankruptcy department. After working in the bankruptcy department she started working with Phil Searcy with Foreclosures. She works as a legal assistant in Bankruptcy, foreclosures and helps with real estate if needed. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the beach, crafting and spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Lisa joined Craige Jenkins in November of 2011, with 13 years of experience in the legal field and 12 years of experience in the medical field. As a legal assistant, she works in the Elder Law and Long Term Care Planning practice area. Her previous experience in both fields gives her the compassion and knowledge to better assist our clients and their families throughout the Long Term Care Planning process. She schedules client and attorney appointments, meets with new and established clients to obtain needed information, prepares and updates client files, and drafts and processes various legal documents as well as general correspondence. Lisa enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons. Lisa is active in her church, as well as her son’s various school and sports organizations.
Lorrie joined the firm in October of 1998 as a family law paralegal. In March of 2014, she began working for Ellis B. Drew, III in the litigation department as a litigation assistant/paralegal. She also assists in the personal injury department. When away from work, Lorrie enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends, taking trips, tending to her flowers in the summer and taking many walks with her dog.
Jane joined Craige Jenkins in February of 2005. She left in January of 2007 to assist her husband in his business, but returned to the firm in July of 2008. She is a legal assistant in the Estate Planning department and Estates department. She also assists in tax preparation along with scheduling appointments, meeting with clients and obtaining information needed for the estate administration process. Jane enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with her husband, three sons, and her grandchildren.
April joined the firm in 1987, as an assistant in the estate administration, estate planning, and fiduciary tax department under the primary supervision of Cowles Liipfert. Over the past 28 years, with hard work and determination, she has focused on estate and trust administration and fiduciary income tax practice and fill-in Information Technology person, when needed. She currently continues to work in fiduciary law but has assumed responsibility as Controller of the law firm’s finances. April has been a member of the NC Paralegal Division since its inception in 1997, and is an active member at St. Clement’s Episcopal Church and served as Senior Warden (2 years of 3 year term) on the Vestry.
Tom joined the firm in February of 2006. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State University and has two associate degrees in business and law enforcement. He serves as a Firm Administrator responsible for HR and operations management, systems management, vendor support, and facilities. Tom is an Army Reserve officer and combat veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan.
Vicki joined the firm in April of 1989. She received her Paralegal Degree from Davidson County Community College and is a North Carolina Certified Paralegal. She works in the bankruptcy practice area and assists with office matters. Vicki meets with clients and prepares bankruptcy petitions as well as drafts other bankruptcy documents. She is married and has two children, a cat, a dog and seven chickens. Vicki enjoys Ocracoke, traveling, scrapbooking and spending time with her family. She is an active member of her church, Konnoak Hills Moravian Church.
Janet has worked in the legal field for 33 years, in real estate and as a Firm Administrator. She enjoys all sports and spending time with her child/dog Maxi and her family and friends. She has been a member of Konnoak Hills Moravian Church all her life and has played in the Moravian Band for 55 years.
Charlie joined CJLW in November of 2006. He works in the Special Needs Trust practice area. He schedules appointments, meets with clients, and obtains information needed for the trust administration process. Charlie enjoys movies, football, fishing, and taking trips with his family.
Claudia joined Craige Jenkins in July of 2013. She attended the University of South Florida and the University of Miami – School of Paralegal Studies and is a Notary Public. She works in the Estate Planning, Tax and Corporate practice areas. She schedules client and attorney appointments and drafts and processes various legal documents, as well as general correspondence. She is currently a member of the firm’s Safety and Wellness Committee. While away from the office, Claudia enjoys traveling, playing golf, gardening and spending time with family and friends. She is an avid UM fan – Go Canes!
Joyce is a North Carolina Certified Paralegal who works on the administration of estates and guardianships, also including experience in estate planning. She has worked for Gordon Jenkins over twenty years. Her job consists of scheduling appointments, meeting with clients to obtain information needed to administer the estates and guardianships. She prepares accountings to be filed with the clerk’s office in Forsyth County, as well as other counties. Joyce enjoys spending time with her family (she has a son and 3 grandchildren), playing scrabble, all sports, especially ACC basketball (an avid Duke fan, just ask Phil!!), football and hockey; old movies, music and the mountains of North Carolina.
Certified Public Accountant
Tim is a CPA with an aptitude for analytical thinking, which complements the accounting and tax work CJLW offers. He enjoys knowing that on a daily basis, his efforts are providing benefits and understanding to others in a complex and ever changing world of compliance. Hobbies: Playing tennis, golf, swimming, and hiking. Education: BSBA with a major in Finance and a MS in Accounting with a concentration in Federal Tax, both degrees from Appalachian State University Boone NC.
Cyndi Freeman joined the firm in September 2003. A native South Carolinian, she received her undergraduate degree from Furman University and her MBA from Western Carolina University. She is a certified paralegal and assists corporate attorney Leon Porter. She lives in Winston Salem, has two adult children, and enjoys reading, running and trips to the beach.
Darlene joined CJLW in February, 2014 as a part-time Office Assistant. She assists with phone coverage, courier duties and backup assistance for other staff. She lives in Stokes County and is retired from Stokes County Government. She enjoys watching her grandchildren participate in sports, traveling and spending long weekends at the beach or mountains.
Shannon joined Craige Jenkins in October of 2011. She received her BA in English from Salem College in 2002 and is a Notary Public. She works in the Estate Planning, Tax and Corporate practice areas. She schedules client and attorney appointments and drafts and processes various legal documents, as well as general correspondence. She is currently a member of the Workplace Enhancement Committee. While away from the office, Shannon enjoys spending time with family and friends. She is an avid Duke fan and loves the Dallas Cowboys.
Nichole Hutchins joined Craige Jenkins in April of 2008. She received her Paralegal Degree from Forsyth Technical Community College. She is a North Carolina Certified Paralegal and also an Advanced Certified Paralegal by the National Association of Legal Assistants. She works in Estate and Guardianship Administration. She meets with clients, obtains information needed for the process and prepares and files the required documents with the Clerk’s offices in various counties. She is married with two sons.
Jennifer joined the firm in 2012, working in the Family Law department. In 2013 she transitioned to traffic and criminal matters as Clyde Cash’s legal assistant. She loves having a boss that goes above and beyond all aspects of his career and personal ethics. Jennifer’s life is filled with the love of a son and daughter. They challenge her every day to be the best she can be and she wouldn’t have it any other way. She also enjoys gardening, crafts, and a good thoroughbred horse race.
Tara joined Craige Jenkins in May of 2015. She received her Paralegal Degree from Forsyth Technical Community College. She works in Estate and Guardianship Administration. She meets with clients, obtains information needed for the process and prepares and files the required documents with the Clerk’s offices in various counties. She is married with a son and two daughters. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, crocheting, playing various types of games, and watching her youngest daughter play travel softball.
Karen joined Craige Jenkins in December 1972. She graduated from Brevard College with an A.A. degree, concentrating in the Secretarial Science program. As a Legal Assistant, she works primarily in the preparation and proofreading of documents in the Estate Planning and Elder Law practice areas. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, watching her grandchildren’s soccer and baseball games, volunteering at Clemmons Food Pantry and also with Red Cross blood drives in her church community.
Lynn joined the firm in September 2011. Since she loves customer service, being a receptionist is the perfect position for her. She will be one of the first people you meet when you walk into our office. Lynn is married and has two married daughters and 5 granddaughters. She also has a Bichon puppy named Jersey that keeps her entertained. In the 4 years that she’s been a receptionist here she has never gone home and said “I had a bad day today.” Life doesn’t get much better than that!
Missy joined the firm in September 2004. She is a legal assistant in the estate planning department. She loves spending time with her husband and their fur babies and she is an insatiable reader.
Amy joined the legal field of Real Estate in 1992. In 2011 she came to work for Phil Searcy as his Real Estate Paralegal. Amy loves the hustle and bustle of Real Estate; there’s certainly never a dull moment. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Darlene joined the firm in September 2002 after twelve years in the Mortgage Loan Business. She works as a legal assistant in the Real Estate Department. She is the first contact in most real estate matters. In her spare time Darlene enjoys spending time with grandchildren and family and traveling.
Ashley joined Craige Jenkins Liipfert & Walker in November of 2016. She is a litigation paralegal and brings to the firm 16 years of experience. Ashley enjoys spending time with her family and volleyball.
Rhonda is a senior paralegal in the litigation department. She is a North Carolina Certified Paralegal with more than 25 years’ experience in personal injury, workers’ compensation and civil litigation. Rhonda is a member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, has served on the North Carolina Advocates of Justice Board of Governors and is on the Board of Directors for Camp Carefree, Inc. where she serves as treasurer. Rhonda is also a member of Pine Hall Presbyterian Church where she serves as an Elder and Clerk of Session.
Assistant Accounting Manager
Elizabeth Searcy joined the firm in 2007 as an office clerk. She graduated from Appalachian State University in 2010 and received her Paralegal Certification from Greensboro College in 2014. Elizabeth is the Assistant Accounting Manager but also helps out in the Real Estate Department and wherever else she is needed. She loves animals, the outdoors, and traveling to the NC Mountains and beaches.
Julie joined the firm in 1997. She is the real estate title search paralegal. She enjoys cooking, reading and spending time with her family. In her spare time she likes to swim, cycle and run. Julie lives in Winston-Salem with her husband Phil. They have four children and three dogs.
Dodi Shore, NCCP
Dodi has been an employee of Craige Jenkins Liipfert & Walker, LLP since 1992. She attended West Virginia Career College and is a North Carolina Certified Paralegal. She works in the Trust Administration practice area. She prepares fiduciary accountings (quarterly and annual), pays client bills, and prepares annual court accountings along with any necessary verifications to the clerk’s office in various counties. Currently, she is also a proud member of the Workplace Enhancement Committee for the firm. Dodi enjoys performing, writing and recording music, tae kwon do, astronomy, crafts and hiking. Dodi has also been known as the firm’s resident hippie!
Amy joined Craige Jenkins in February 2005, She works in the Estate Administration practice area. She schedules appointments, meets with clients, obtains information needed for the estate administration process and prepares and files the required documents with the clerk’s offices in various counties. In her spare time, Amy enjoys cooking, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
Special Needs Trust Coordinator
Kathy joined Craige Jenkins in 2001. She has extensive experience working with families of special needs children and helping them to acquire items that will enhance the child’s quality of life. Kathy and her husband have two daughters and two grandsons. She and her husband also have a bus ministry through Woodland Baptist Church, which gives them the extra opportunity to share their faith and bring children to church.
Melissa joined the firm in 2000 as a summer clerk, while in school at UNC-Charlotte. She graduated in 2003 with a degree in Finance, and began working full-time. She is the firm’s accounting manager, and her favorite part of her job is interacting with and serving our wonderful, friendly staff. Melissa finished her MBA from East Carolina in 2015. She loves spending time with her husband Josh, family, and friends, and her hobbies include hiking with their dog Charlie, quilting, and an addiction to Pinterest craft projects.
Dawn joined the firm in December 2013 with over 30 years of experience in Personal Injury and Workers’ Compensation. She works in our Kernersville office. She received her Paralegal degree from Davidson Community College. In her spare time, Dawn enjoys camping, shopping and spending time with her family.
Joy has a decade of experience as a legal assistant in the Winston-Salem area. She joined Craige Jenkins in the Spring of 2014 as the newest member of the Special Needs Trust Administration team. She assists in making purchases and processing invoices, schedules Trustee Council meetings and prepares meeting minutes, obtains documents needed to prepare Trust taxes, and ensures that records are up to date. When she is not at Craige Jenkins she participates in a Bible education ministry, and in her spare time she likes to enjoy good food, live music and travel with friends and family.
