Mr. Dougton was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar in 1989, and to the U.S. District Court in North Carolina, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Why did you choose to become an attorney?
I did not want to do the same thing every day.

20 year anniversary to Turks and Caicos islands.

Favorite North Carolina landmark?
I am a member of Mount Tabor United Methodist Church, where I serve as an usher and current Chair of Trustee Committee. I am a past member of the Board and coach of Winston Salem National Little League, and a former coach of YMCA basketball. I also volunteer as an Assistant Scout leader for Troop 911, and as a YMCA Adventure Guide, having served as a Past Chief of the Nation.
