About Brent
Brent is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and in the United States District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina. He is a Board Certified Specialist in Elder Law by the North Carolina State Board of Legal Specialization, and a Certified Elder Law Attorney (“CELA”) by the National Elder Law Foundation.
Brent is the past chair of the Elder Law and Special Needs Section Council of the North Carolina Bar, as well as the past legislative chair. He is a past member of the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Brent has served on the Board of Directors of The Shepherd’s Center of Greater Winston-Salem, as well as the Board of Directors of Associates in Christian Counseling. He is also a member of Ardmore Baptist Church.
Brent enjoys sports and spending time with family. On what he has enjoyed about being an attorney, Brent says this: When working with special needs trusts I get to work directly with a disabled beneficiary and his family to ensure that the beneficiary is receiving the medical care he needs and to help enhance his life. Being able to help someone in a concrete way on a daily basis is satisfying.
Education
- Brent received his B.A. from the University of North Carolina in 1992 and received his J.D. from Campbell University in 1996, where he graduated summa cum laude and as a member of the Campbell Law Review.
