Q&A
I grew up around law books since my father was an attorney, and after a year working for a bank, I went to law school over my father’s objection (most of his years as a practicing lawyer were during the Depression) and I was fascinated with what I studied there.
Working with and getting to know many fine people as their attorney, and using my education and experience to help them navigate through the legal challenges of life to accomplish their objectives.
Throughout my career I have worked with, and learned from, other attorneys in the law firm, whom I respect as individuals and as professionals, and also worked with many fine staff members who have helped me be a better attorney.
In the 1990’s I accompanied business clients on a trip to Harare, Zimbabwe, during which I met a number of leading businessmen, professionals, and high government officials, including President Robert Mugabe. The country was very poor economically at that time, and it was eye-opening to see the situation first-hand and meet people who lived there.
The coffee pot in Old Salem, which was originally built by Julius and Samuel Mickey, the latter of whom was a great grandfather of my wife.
