Cowles is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and his practice areas include estate planning, estate administration, trust administration, taxation, and corporate law.
Cowles has been with our law firm for over 55 years. Cowles is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, Forsyth County Bar Association, American Bar Association, and the Estate Planning Council of Winston-Salem.
Cowles enjoys history, genealogical studies, and college sports. On why he chose to become an attorney, Cowles says this: I grew up around law books since my father was an attorney, and after a year working for a bank, I went to law school over my father’s objection (most of his years as a practicing lawyer were during the Depression) and I was fascinated with what I studied there.
Education
- Cowles received his A.B. from the University of North Carolina in 1960 and received his J.D. from the University of North Carolina in 1964 and was a member of the North Carolina Law Review.
