Q&A
My father was an attorney. (He became a Judge over twenty-five years ago). My uncle was an attorney. I was an English Major at Wake Forest University. I am comfortable with and good at public speaking. I enjoyed writing.
As a litigation attorney, each case is different, each client is different, and each case presents its own unique challenges, so it is rarely boring. I like thinking on my feet and I am forced to do that on a regular basis. Finally, there is a competitive side to litigation which I enjoy.
Golf. I also enjoy college football games and reading.
The Wake Forest University Steeple and the Deacon at the stadium. (I have replicas of both in my home office).
I was involved in the Young Lawyers Division (President of the Young Lawyers Division Professionalism Committee). I have given frequent lectures at seminars.
Lowe’s Motor Speedway pedestrian bridge collapse. I represented several very severely injured folks who were crossing a pedestrian bridge from a parking lot to Lowe’s Motor Speedway when it suddenly collapsed. The cases were both interesting and challenging. At the same time, I became deeply personally involved as I spent extensive time with the clients, two in particular.
