Practice Area Mediation
Attorney H. David Niblock approaches his mediation practice with compassion and honesty. A mediator certified by the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission in both the Superior Court Mediated Settlement Conference Program and the Family Financial Settlement Program, David believes that “the practice of law is a calling, a calling to help others in their time of great need. This is also true about serving as a mediator and is the reason I have served regularly as a mediator for over twenty-five years. As a mediator, I have the opportunity to help others resolve disputes and avoid protracted and costly litigation.”
David also serves frequently as an arbitrator under the North Carolina Family Law Arbitration Act, hearing and deciding disputes arising in family law.
David combines his calm and forthright manner with over 43 years of legal experience and knowledge to guide clients through mediation during what can be complicated and emotionally trying situations. He brings compassion and honesty to his practice. He also served as general counsel for a real estate development, construction, and management business, giving him personal knowledge of disputes arising in the real estate development and construction industry.
David’s deep roots and strong connections to our community give him insight into the needs and expectations of the parties in our court system, whether before the Clerk of Court, in Superior Court, or in a family dispute.
In addition to his extensive experience as a mediator in family financial settlements, David has experience in resolving the following matters though mediation:
- Trust, estate, and fiduciary disputes
- Business disputes
- Construction disputes
- Real property matters
- Condominium and HOA disputes
- Landlord/tenant matters
- Construction disputes
- Personal injury and negligence cases
- Alienation of affections and criminal conversation
- Contract disputes.
“The courts of this country should not be the places where resolution of disputes begins. They should be the places where the disputes end after alternative methods of resolving disputes have been considered and tried.” – Sandra Day O’Connor
David welcomes the opportunity to serve as a mediator. He is dedicated to mediation as a form of alternative dispute resolution, and he brings this dedication and a resolute determination to every matter wherein he serves as a mediator.
